The goal was to create mobile app and wearable watch that helps solo event-goers feel confident and connected by matching them with like-minded people, guiding them to meet-ups using GPS, and making conversations easier with prompts and accessibility features.
Which led begged the question. “How Might We help solo event-goers feel confident and connected when attending social events, so they can, build meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals nearby?”
This project set out to address the discomfort and isolation often experienced by individuals attending social events alone. Through user research and insight-gathering, it became clear that many solo attendees seek meaningful interaction but lack a structured, safe, and intuitive way
to connect with others in similar situations.
The proposed digital interface provides a comprehensive solution by combining geolocation, personality-based matching, and wearable technology. These features work together to help users identify nearby like-minded individuals, initiate conversation, and build genuine connections — all within a secure, user-centred environment. By prioritising user safety, comfort, and ease of use, the application successfully responds to the core problem identified at the outset. Ultimately, this solution transforms the solo event experience into one that fosters connection, confidence, and community.
